Obligation

I don't ever want another conversation
as if it's our obligation
wouldn't want to see your face again
unless it's for your final showing
you don't have to ask
I know you don't really care
but yeah, I'm doing just fine
cold hearted, I know
I learned it from you
the master of showing no emotion

here comes the wolf at my door
huffing and puffing over nothing
trying to fuck up my good vibes
rather see this thing end
with every intent
of never seeing each other again

history is best left in the past
no use holding on to faded memories
these days you're more like a poison
every word attached is a back hand
it's not that it doesn't hurt
or that we didn't have some good times
but sometimes you have to pull that band-aid
to move on with your life

here comes the wolf at my door
huffing and puffing over nothing
trying to fuck up my good vibes
rather see this thing end
with every intent
of never seeing each other again

the work I do is biblical
but you won't ever get to see
I wish you well with a life full of happiness
sad truth is
it feels like a chore even saying that
I never been good at playing pretend
family is just a word to me
until it's given meaning
