Dusk and my Broken Heart

I used to hate dusk. And twilight as well.

Now it’s the beautiful precursor to
the best time, which is night time.

I’ll take an old country cemetery
buried in the thick trees.
That’s my solitude. My dusk.
It looks after my broken heart 🖤

You really brought the big city imagery in such an awesome way. Reminds me of London and I love the grey, the alleys, broken glass, and twilight. If I see stray cats it makes me sad though and I must feed them and try to save them. This is a HUGE LIKE and RL. Art is a perfect match.

I can see you feeding those stray cats, that's the kind of luxurious heart you have Kx.  Maybe I should spend more time there,  I might run into you ...
I love everything to do with Grey and my UK days as well.  I'm a tried and true New Yorker but London is just as awesome in many ways.

I love blue and sunshine but also dusk. There is a peaceful melancholy when the night falls.

I wrote a poem way back about both.
I was just beginning to write.  It's one of my favorite poems.

Twilight then Dusk

last rays of light
twilight then dusk
the day begins to sleep
quiet over the front

Too much nice weather is bad for an artist.
The notorious degenerate Irish painter, Francis Bacon, used to remark he could never paint in Monte Carlo, despite the casinos & lax sex-laws were to his liking (underage boys)--the weather was much too nice. He could only paint in a dreary place like London...

Yes, dreary weather is much better for am abstract painter ....
I love the sun but it doesn't love me and have been battling skin cancer issues for years..... Give me a dark corner and a bunch paint supplies and I'll make something pretty.   I remember going to London once and finally getting the Beatles song where they sang " Sitting in an English garden waiting for the sun but the sun don't come" and then it all made sense when that little burst of sun did come.  Everyone hurried outside to get an hour of sun and hope.  
I'm probably more UK in theory then American but that's another story.  My mom used to tease me that she got the wrong baby from the hospital and that I'm really Irish.  Well I've got the fair skin and the lesions to prove it.  Nonetheless thanks for your comment.  Always good to see you !!!
