all alone...in a crowd
quietly...very loud
want to leave...have to stay
wish I could, go away

in my car, drive off to
somewhere else, somewhere new
take a hike, disappear
to get close, to be near

trees and birds, flowing streams
mushrooms lit by, sunlight beams
fairies dancing...in my mind
slipping in and out of time -

rising up, from all around
lifting off, from the ground
floating up into a place
where I can, move in space

to a world, far away
from ordinary, every day
this and that, and everything
ready once more, to begin

to be alone...in a crowd
serenity amid the loud
ordinary, everyday
in a place, I want to stay
