Beyond Life
Look everyone has problems
We deal with them differently
Addiction
Self harm
Eating Disorders
You name it
It happens
I read somewhere that every 62 minutes
someone dies from an eating disorder
Every 11 minutes someone dies from suicide
That 65 million people die each year in the world
That is 178,000 each day
7425 each hour
and 120 each minute.
Imagine that being someone you know
You love them
You care for them
You want to help them but they won't accept
They are scared lately
What would you do?
How would you save them?
What would you say?
Experiencing something so real
Something that nobody will truely understand
They say "I understand"
When they don't
They think they do
They want to help
But don't know how
We as people have the natural instinct
to want to help
We want to save lives
Call ouselves hero's
When really we are all hero's
Hero's because we make it out of bed every morning
We all deserve a chance

The power of facts and stark truth really hit home via your formatting and cleverly used phrasing.....
It's always harsh to reconcile the inevitable end of life, even more so, when thinking of the idea of exacts worldwide and yet it's perhaps something that needs confronting. To really appreciate the precious time we all may or may not have.... To be able to live with gusto and appreciate the fragility, herein.

i really like the humanity that oozes throughout this poem and the emotions that slowly emerge bigger as you read along, a very humanitarian & confrontational piece there's no question about it, what i admire most is that it doesn't lose the human touch within the words, it would work incredibly well as a spoken word poem too if that's a route you might try out in the near future
