When We Rightly See

We are guests at life’s feast
each of us as good
as the dirt beneath
our sister’s feet
For who will be proud
shall taste defeat
her branches extending
with little reach
and at life’s table
find little to eat
But when the heart
in fullness blooms
and Truth we rightly see
for surely the eyes
are wont to deceive
The haughty cup of pride
swallowed by humility
in victory
we’ll raise together
each at her seat
one family regaling
in this mystical feast
