THE KISS OF THE HUMMINGBIRD

THOUGHT

This morning,
as I usually do
if the weather permits,
I was taking my walk
in the park.
and decided to walk
off the beaten path
into an uncared for section
where the terrain is rough,
unmanicured bushes
and wildflowers exude
to me a new and rare beauty:
real nature undisturbed.
walking slowly I saw
a hummingbird darting
back and forth kissing
the lips of flowers that
were giving sweet pollen
and maybe nectar, too.
In a quick fantasy moment
I saw YOU...I was the hummingbird
kissing your sweet lips; the
taste of your nectar was intoxicating.
THEN
a crow flew by yaking and I came
back to reality...Oh, my dearest
meet me at the Kissing Place
and we'll share nectar sweet kisses;
we'll share hummingbird kisses.
OKAY?
