Clear Blue Coffee Dream

Clear Blue Coffee Dream

“Hey you, quit staring at my derriere. In fact, go find a seat boo.”
“But I haven’t paid. Are you suggesting that I benefit from the largess of this coffee shop by getting a coffee and bagel on the house?”
“Oh darling John, I had no idea you hadn’t done your free market duty. Of course, let me ring you up. Thank you for being so honest though a voyeur.”
“You know my roving eyes are a compliment to your beauty. I don’t gaze at just any lass.”
“I bet you say that to all the Barista girls.”
“None other than you has brought it to my attention. That means you are comfortable enough to speak frankly with me on the matter.”
“Then we are a match steamed into a coffee dream.”
“The gleam in your eyes is a beam in my boyish grin.”
“Hey, I have something even better than coffee for you if you can handle it.”
“Lead the way sweet shepherdess of the coffee forest.”
“You are my only sheep. So follow my lead in this mystery dance.”
A blast of wind takes John by surprise. He walks through the cosmic airlock onto a meadow where a mountain breeze blows her hair into a memory of the lost palaces whose dark tresses become the snowy evidence of a life well-lived.
She says, “You always loved vanilla ice cream. So my strands are the color of your favorite flavor. Dip your hands into my forest and kiss me until kingdom come. Gaze ahead knight of my roundness. Look into the lake.”
“My hair is the confection reflection of your own. In life, yours went gray while mine was salt and pepper.”
A vortex becomes the labyrinth of a cavern where a torch lights the way to deeper passions whose meanings are seen in the onyx pools where water is clear as the sky seen on a blue day.
