Brick Mind Maze

There's places in my mind where there's miles of brick walls
Each time I tell the story another layer of bricks
Made of my own blood and the mud of time
I can walk down this maze with ease
Eyes closed, fingers out, tracing the words
Then I'm transported to halls less traveled
My fingers unfamiliar with the grooves
My feet unpracticed with the steps
Then there's these almost paper thin walls
One brick deep, stacked more like janga
Sitting at my desk my computer before me
This is reality while I'm trapped in my minds maze
The screams of myself leaking between the ancient brick
Poorly set up, built by bloody child hands
And here I am on my knees bleeding out
Crying as I try frantically to dig up enough mud
Time is a dusty bitch and the hour glass leaks
Sticky young bricks forming as I try to cover the thin part
Trying to ignore the crying on the other side
Gotta hide it in my mind, faster ever faster
Blood and sand, muddy bricks stacking up
Ignoring her pleas for help from the other side
I can't change the history there
I can't break down this wall
Repair, hide it again, speed is key
And escape to more familiar places
