THE HEALING OF SILENCE

TRANQUILITY

As I sit on the porch
of the rustic cabin
I rented in order
to get away, NO,
to escape from all
the noises, voices, and
the chatter in my day-to-day world;
I'm starting to feel alive,
refreshed, and inspired again.
SILENCE
is so beautiful and healing:
it knows just how and where
to heal and release my tension;
to open my eyes and heart
to receive the new inspiration
that is coming on the winds,
and in the songs of the bird choir.
A lizard stops and winks as it
darts away, leaving me with
another beautiful memory.
In a few days my healing
will conclude for a season;
and in silence, I will meet you at
the Kissing Place and share
my new energy and life given
to me by silence.
