In Another Place and Time
What would my life be if.........
I didn't have responsibilities
like paying my utilities
no playing taxi for my friends
going to places where the earth ends
No working hard to get my pay
we could chill in bed all day
In another place and time
life would be so fine
we would share a love divine
In another place and time
No picking up kids from school
just we two by a pool
no constant trips to the grocery store
means more time with the one i adore
no cleaning every night and day
just you and me going out to play
In another place and time
life would so fine
we would share a love divine
In another place and time
no having to pay my taxes soon
rather be with you in Cancun
no playing short order cook
i need you to give me that look
no homework to rehearse
rather play doctor and nurse

needed to choose a different course
now i have buyers remorse
wish i made the right choice
didn't listen to my inner voice

Ty for reading it. I just realized that people assume that when I write "I" than it refers to me. But, in this case I was not thinking like that. In my mind, this was to be a song sung by a woman and about her struggle to be a Mom and Wife. I hope you are careful and safe as well.
I see you wrote this with a completely different intention. I only read another piece of yours so far and thought you were a rapper. "In another place and time" would be a great theme for hip hop (the style of Nas "one mic" came to my mind). Story of one ore several not being able to fulfil their dream because of where they were born / how they grew / mistakes they made / racial injustice etc

I am not a Rapper. But, I wrote this to be a song. In the big picture sense is is about regretting a life style choice. When it comes to hindsight I think most humans regret at least one choice they made. As far as songs with a Hip hop flavor-please feel free to read my poem on here entitled "The One" and watch the Youtube Video. Thanks!
