I keep myself 100%
because this life is full of stress
they say to stop the profanity
but it isn't inappropriate
when you feel that shit
look around
I see it in their faces
they can't fucking relate
this isn't church
Jesus told me to hold my own
because even saints can be devils
crawled my way out of poverty
now they look at me with dagger eyes
like "who the fuck is this guy?"
shoveling food at the table
hungry as fuck
ready to take on the world
my life is a fight
I let up
then they step up
to suppress
bring me back to that scared little kid
but that was so many years ago
I lived and learned
now I'm a warrior
best to move the fuck out the way
I don't rely on guns and fist
my most dangerous weapon is my lips
spitting out truth
you try to ignore it but it gets louder
now you see me in your dreams
waking up in cold sweats
don't expect any apologies
you see me as a animal
what else would you expect?

It's so awesome to read such a positive, no holds barred, powerhouse of self introspection. Your strength of character is palpable and jumps off the page via your poetic stylings...
I hope that with aging that I'm able to learn how to be so strong and always stand behind the quality of my convictions.... To me, this piece is a reminder of that importance...

I belive you do well as you are. We all have our own battles and ways to fight them. Thank you for such a great compliment. I try my best to be strong. Not that it's always easy.
