THE KIND OF LOVE I WANT/NEED

HONESTY

Soap Opera love,
romance novel love,
back seat love, and
the con man love;
these and other so-called
"I love you" expressions
of love are designed
for selfish interests.
The courts and jails
are filled with abusers
who did so using the
worn-out excuse of
"But I love her/him."
You can teach a parrot
to say "I love you."
Most of us have been
"loved" by the voice of a parrot.
I desire a love that "walks
and not talks". I need and want
a love that is kind, patient,
understanding, truthful, and
forgiving when I mess up.
I want a love that is sincere
and doesn't try to blow smoke.
I want a love that realizes
we are all imperfect beings
willing to accept each other's
flaws and all. I want a love
that compromises on
none-life-threatening issues.
YES,
I know there are no perfect
persons, but as two imperfect
persons we can commit to
being committed to love
that walks and not just talks.
