Image for the poem Always There

Always There

I wash away yesterday
Like shed
scales
of serpents.

Crystalline droplets -
Dropping
in alternative
states of sequence.

Each drop -
Landing
upon [skin
in] resonance,

Into revelation.

Some climb a mountain,
others
bathe in sacred rivers;

I have
reconfigured the rituals
right & proper
to my self.

Stealth -
cloaked in
[nothing
but night]

I sit upon the altar
& ignite
frankincense
into the air,

Seeking
out -
unapparent words
that were always there.

Always There
