Time Reveler

Constantly rebounding between this and that time
Until, one day, our realities align


For all of the time I spend in the past
Replaying your last,
moments
You would think I were a time traveler,
A time reveler
One whose reflection provides the comfort you can no longer supply
Absent, not of your own choice
But through your call to rejoice,
in Heaven
Finally, your weary soul found rest
It seems, life was through putting your spirit to the test

Constantly rebounding between this and that time
Until, one day, our realities align


In the midst of a calm moment in my mind
I flash back to when your hands could still hold mine
Back to the moment I woke from my temporary rest
To learn you had taken your final breath
Back to the moment when I had to make peace with a new reality
A reality in which I knew,
that it was not you
Lying there the last time we met
But a mere piece of your being
Whose memory I hope to never forget
