deafens  
 
clearly stating  
Captain Obvious to the Bridge!  
that you don't enjoy  
the companion'ship of words  
on this inner'stellar journey  
 
ultimately losing whatever readers  
you picked up along the way  
towards a horizon unevent'ful;  
 
the odd, galactic hitchhiker  
instead resigned to snoozing  
below deck in hibernation pod  
for a few hundred years . . .  
 
all the while gestating  
a chest cavity bursting  
rude awakening:  
 
with little to offer other than space  
no one can hear the poet in you  
scream
