A walk in the dark

Walking solo in the dark I hear you scream my name

I look & see fragments of our past

haunted by the past, iffy bout the present & nervous bout the future  

I question why am I seeing all this,  you whisper I need to understand what went wrong & how to prepare for a better future

I stood looking at nothing in complete darkness

 Suddenly I feel you wrap your arms around me

That kind of security you showed tamed a ravenous animal & made him vulnerable

You took that power & made me a servant of your affection.
