Body of Water

I steal from you poets
Like speeding, I know it
You sew, and I reap
It's not a secret I keep

because....

Bella puked in the kitchen
Conjured mess I clean while bitchin'
Now she's the queen on her chair
Licking, old, leg, hair....

I don't have a beach to wander
to leave footprints as I ponder
There's no mountains in my view
to inspire a poem, or two
The ocean isn't close
to take a deep, poetic dose
The trees spared by the city
are not a forest, that's a pity....

The giant factory to my west
Can only spew its best
I can hear people chatter
Music, traffic pitter-patter
A seventh coffee, and a pack
Doesn't earn a trophy back

...

I don't have a beach to ponder....
but thank the poets who help me wander

I envy people who live beside a body of water.
