THE WEAK AND AGGRESSION

Can you meanings to words weak. All the way from frail of physical strength, to frail of moral character, with stops along the way for all those who are disenfranchised, and must fight to claim their own—or to simply survive. My mind's first wandering thought is—Wherein the definition of weak are to be found the meek? Or are they?

Actually, he said that  your submission created "deepER" awareness, not deep awareness.  And since he didn't say what this "deeper awareness" was an awareness of,  it may be rushing the gun to give thanks to him.

"My heart is always with the weak
who crawl on earth like a small worm
to see a place itself to hide
from eyes the strong use to descry .."

If  it is the "weak" who crawl to see a place to hide from being seen by the strong, shouldn't your third line read "to see [better  seek] a place THEMSELVES to hide?

Thank you for your advice, Baldwin, but no, it shouldn't. I thought of SEEK, but l preferred SEE. Anyhow, both can work, and neither creates a problem.

Why shouldn't it be what I noted it should be?  The weak are not an
 "it".

So  the weak only want to view a hiding place?  They have no actual desire to "acquire or obtain" a place to hide?

The weak are not an it, but the worm that represents them IS.

A worm does not have eyes.  So it cannot see anything. It can, however, seek out things.

Actually, your simile is a description of **the way the weak crawl on the earth**,  not the weak themselves.  Given this, it would have been better for you to  have written    
 
"... the weak who crawl on earth like a small worm that seeks a place to hide".

Leaving aside the fact that "descry" is a transitive verb and therefore needs a **stated** direct object following it if your statement "to hide  from eyes the strong use to descry"   is to make sense (cue a response from J-Z to this point saying that the object of "descry" is patently clear to those who have eyes to see), another problem here in your opening stanza is that the syntax in these lines  
 
to hide  
from eyes the strong use to descry  
and dive with wings so apt to use.  
   
makes you say that the strong use eyes to dive at (presumably) the weak.    
   
Moreover,  you've left unstated  what it is that "apt" wings are being used for.  
   
How about  
   
to hide  
from eyes the strong use to descry their prey  
and talons sharp they apt employ    
to snatch and carry it away.

I'm wondering, given J-Z's continued silence in the face of  my remarks about how poorly his piece is written, not to mention what appears to be a running away from  in any way demonstrating (not declaring) that my remarks above are off the mark, should be taken as an implicit admission on his part that I've shown decisively and indisputably that he does not know -- at least in this instance -- how to write well or how compose something that clearly conveys what he apparently wanted to convey.

Does anyone disagree that this is the case?  If you do,  would you do me the kindness of articulating why you ?
