All this for Nothing

As a man, can you imagine you aren’t allowed to follow your’s ambitious dreams?
Can you imagine you aren’t allowed to shape without it being a crime?
Can you imagine your only purpose is to put food on the table and only have sons?

As a women, can you imagine you aren’t allowed to work?
Can you imagine you wearing a dress is committing a crime?
Can you imagine your only purpose is to do cores and clean your household and only give birth to many children?
Imagine your not allowed to take a walk outside, or go shopping without a man leading you?

As a homosexual, can you imagine it’s punished by death loving a person whose same gender as you?
Can you imagine being tortured or even get your head cut of in front of your family, only for being who you are?

As a parent, can you imagine your child only to be religious schooled to pray and study religious laws?
Your son is teach not to look at his wife as an equal but to look at her as his slave.
Your daughter is teach only to obey her husband?

As a human from the West, can you imagine not to have the freedom to dress as you want? To work as you want?
Not to think as you want?
Not being allowed to have a political opinion?

We have the freedom to live as we like.
The freedom to visit our family as we want.
The freedom to think, educate and work as we want to.
My friend lost the ability to see his family when Taliban invaded Afghanistan .
His sister lost her education.
His mother lost her right to work.
His grandma lost her right to go outside alone.
The civilians of Afghanistan lost their freedom we have been fighting for 20 years to give them.
The country that’s bombed to ruins,
The thousands of lives that’s been lost in battle,
Men, Woman, Children.
All the suffer seems to have been for nothing, by one single political mistake.
My friend cries, fears for his family.
He believe he will never see them again.
Which reminds me of the freedom we have, they now have lost the chance to get.
