Appetence
I want to be the calm rain
that falls on you
the lucky drop
that trickles down your chin
I want to be the water
collecting in your hands
against your skin
before going to bed at night
I want to be the drizzle
that makes you smile bright
fills puddles to jump in
and makes flowers bloom
I want to be the calm rain
that makes you able to sleep
with dreams that carry you out
of the room on a purple broom
that falls on you
the lucky drop
that trickles down your chin
I want to be the water
collecting in your hands
against your skin
before going to bed at night
I want to be the drizzle
that makes you smile bright
fills puddles to jump in
and makes flowers bloom
I want to be the calm rain
that makes you able to sleep
with dreams that carry you out
of the room on a purple broom
Author's Note
This is my first poem. It is about longing for love to be returned so I hope I picked the correct category. Poem style is inspired by a Norwegian author (Laars Aabye Christensen) that made a poem using rain in a similar fashion.
All writing remains the property of the author. Don't use it for any purpose without their permission.

Thank you, I agree but downside seems to be that if you truly love someone you have to willing to let them go.

dear VC
interesting how the title speak
'a natural affinity of a substance or inanimate object for another'
plays to the vibrational frequency of purple
silent lotus

I didn't think about that. English wasn't my first language so still mix up words and meanings sometimes. Appetence was a new word for me and I liked it's meaning and how it sounds.

but my quill only whispers in Eeengliiiish,
fortunately the heart is the dialect of nomads & loiterers
a warm smile

I really like the poem, but the last line just throws me. Everything else in the poem is realistic.
