Feel of Field

Bead of sweat, suspended -
Following rivulet, embedded
in – Skin, the ridge of the forehead,
Weary – Dreary, in the sun as [concentrate].

Windows in rows across the surface of dirt.
Blurry vision in magnification.
Seed by seed sows -
Plant by plant that grows,
stilled,
poetically willed,

Captured in flash form moment -
as the sweat
breaks the stillness
sweetly.

Spyglass prism sheds the sun
in overdose.

There are dreams
& shadows,
& links

In flash
as
bead of sweat
falls
&
sinks.

Author's Note
On these really hot/humid days I think about the field workers. I remember I was writing a paper about my grandma and I was asking her a whole bunch of questions (I am a naturally very curious person but the paper a "profile piece" created an expanded compartmentalization of questions.)

She was telling about when she worked in the fields as a child...  Tears surfaced in her beautiful face, as she described a feeling of powerful defiance...

Like...  Nothing can hurt me.

Anyway...  My mind is always going places maybe...
