Spring Arrived
When the world was grey
when it was always just another day
My soul was empty
a riverbed gone dry....
I hear the birds again
the whisper of trees in the wind
I hear the troubles
in the voice of a friend, again
I enjoy the sun's rise and set
Joy is the reason my eyes are wet
I see the uselessness, of living with regret
It took a long, long time....
Spring arrived
There's colors all around
and I'm grateful I survived
Hey world I'm alive!
I feel the coolness of the morning
and the warmth of a midday sun
I know a usefulness, that eluded me too long
I'm back in touch with neglected friends
I'm back from, living dead
That's what I was, before, spring arrived
It took a long, long time....

Wow. This poem is so touching. Your reader can hear the despair in your chorus. You’ve captured that emotion so vividly. Extremely well written. As it was written in ‘99 I can only hope these feelings are long since past tense for you. They are ever present for me some days and I appreciate their sentiment. Great write. H🌷

Thanks. I found it flowed like a worthy poem, when I already had music made up on my guitar. I wrote 50+ songs, and really like around 10 of them. 'Bittersweet' is one. I'll publish more lyrics sometime.
