Silent Facing the Sky
What jealously brings beauty to such cruel ends, silent, facing the sky in surrender? Legs twitched slightly before spreading in peace, revealing a birth canal open to heaven as if praying for grace, for one more chance at life. Moments before, my shaking hands held a revolver carried by her father when we were children. His daughter's prayers now fall unanswered.
Trembling, I pause to consider this most beautiful vista now lost to creation. Her pink portal of pleasure, where our unbridled lusts once danced, is quiet now. Her smooth, cooling skin still glistens with invitation in the fading light.
All memories, passions, and loves were erased at the command of my betrayed heart. I bow over this one I have loved and cry.
Her body whispers, “Was my life well-lived and beautiful, though short?”
Bending to hear, I kiss her salty portal and whisper, “Yes.”
