Poisoned wells from
the pigs
lead to their
own
salvation
Dragged
across
the field
and
forced to walk
Night time thoughts
come into question
Your confidence is a compass
A sigil, a tether of trust
Built in iron,
and which breaks
as glass.
Confidence is a shadow
Prominently cast
A useless weapon
A couple more pounds
You let hang off your back
Add more meat to the rack
Same old colors
Black and darker black
Drink it up
And make it last
Try not to laugh

Confidence is a shadow Prominently cast A useless weapon A couple more pounds You let hang off your back. I really love the imagery of this entire poem!!! But that part really stuck out at me and grabbed my conscience. There are times where I have also felt like a pig being led to slaughter with nothing more than my false pretenses to protect me. Thank you for sharing!!!
