Image for the poem bidden

bidden

the soul flickers then fades
upon my grave...rest

contemptible life I persist
dragging my heart to and fro
in the quest to find normalcy vow
sickened chastity of spirit
denies me entry into its kingdom

slaying me with its shrewd tongue
not yet oh ye of little knowledge

upon the ledge dost thou fling with no remorse?

into the fray with dire outcome
sin today pay on the morrow
death cares not the end
should it be messy and cruel
or be it found in a timely fashion

lurking in darkness...vain
under divination's spell you wander
debating the spirits that reject you

until we meet this is my behest
come to your senses, dearest sage
embrace life, live like it's your last breath
