From East and West

When you sink
into my veins
quaint and ethereal,
all parts pliable -
a willow bowing,
chaotic envelopes of acceptance
holding most holy spires
I'll savour
a place to bury ourselves
raise Voltaire in spirit
bring him back to ground,
pen oceans,
make beautiful the streetlights,
orchastrate operas as drowning Ophelia,
roll out a prayer space for unbaptised souls,
plant my soles on your soles
paving one blessing
released into aether,
peeling God's eyes open,
after so long in such quiet,
to magnify that human wanting.
