You’re weeping

for your friend
who just
passed
you by.
Between the shadows
of your bookshelf
of doubt
I truth in wait
for when to
strike.
A pit viper
daring
to con Vicks and
soothe you
eternal;
rubbing
the grease
into
your skin.
