Gamble with no fear,
It's time to embrace risk
'Cause you won't see the cash
If you don't roll the dice
Know when to call and when to fold
Be ready if you have to bluff
If you don't keep your poker face
You'll never play your ace of spades.

Gambling is something that's lost its luster, culturally-speaking.
My favorite movie about gambling is "Bob Le Flambeur." or Bob the whale, or high-roller.
The great Irish painter Francis Bacon was also a gambling addict, frequently blowing 10 000s of English pounds per night.
Honest critique time: My favorite part of this is the beginning, when I get some idea of the psychological draw of gambling to the speaker. OK, confronting fear. But it doesn't tell me much more about what this experience of confronting fear for you is like. Is there a connection to being an aerialist? A fascinating topic, the self-destruction of gambling as a way of confronting fear. But the poem withdraws into...less interesting stuff. Missed opportunity.

To be honest, there's no depth in this writing, it just came to my mind as I was thinking of a caption for a picture I wanted to post on Instagram. The merely shallowness in the world of modern gambling. Dressed up in Caesar's Palace, half sober, walking across the lobby of the hotel to get to the casino and have a good time.

There's this thrill that comes over people who gamble.
It makes it easy to lose control and make wrong decisions.
