seek

 
dig the scene and spin a tale
mirrored truths express themselves  
the faces of others are revealing
 
unfolding before you yourself
when you peer deeply  
I seek to understand why I am
then further who
 
I am largely rejected
I desire connection but fail
in the gaze of others I see myself
awkward in my approach
I stutter then turn
 
the knowledge cuts
I don't present well
I see my reflection and i understand
they don't see my soul
I don't let them in
 
distrust ensues and I'm adrift
in a sea of faces who scorn my presence
it hurts me deep down
I don't let it show on the surface
 
pain is reflected back at me
in the people who seek also and denied entrance
