When you take me off the shelf
I pray it leads to a seat at your table.
A meal, some wine, lots of laughs and exquisite conversation.
Diving deep into the moment; leaving no wanted emotion unfelt.
You bring out and highlight the best in me.
Wanting you close sometimes feels like a necessity.

Dear BT,
This write has me feeling conflicted as I’m reading the voice of poem is only acknowledged when the subject feels like paying attention. That feels quite sad yet the upside is the voice has some illumination. As I’m still pondering this write it’s a good one. I do hope the voice in the poem knows how valuable they truly are. H🌷
