A Picture of You
Your smile was brighter than the sun
and in the old days we had so much fun
In the tough times we had each other's backs
and traded advice and life hacks
We debated fiction and facts
while you ate those pickle slices snacks
After midnight now my depression is darker than French blue
it would help if I could laugh with you
I worry to the break of dawn
and survive each day with a yawn
Now all I have is a picture of you
to get me through
I know life is about change
if I had the power there are things I would rearrange
Because everything just feels strange
and I miss the thoughts we would exchange
Now all I have is a picture of you
to get me through
and in the old days we had so much fun
In the tough times we had each other's backs
and traded advice and life hacks
We debated fiction and facts
while you ate those pickle slices snacks
After midnight now my depression is darker than French blue
it would help if I could laugh with you
I worry to the break of dawn
and survive each day with a yawn
Now all I have is a picture of you
to get me through
I know life is about change
if I had the power there are things I would rearrange
Because everything just feels strange
and I miss the thoughts we would exchange
Now all I have is a picture of you
to get me through
