--When Building Permits, or Grammar Unmoored
This is a fun, creative poem; especially the intro
The comparison of writing a poem to construction is a new take on ways to compare writing a poem to various things--
sex seems to be a top contender,
as well as cooking,
gardening,
hiking,
driving,
and marriage (the opposite of sex?)--
some interesting word-play, in particular "vice is a grip to hungry ears" in particular--sound as something the ear apprehends--
by the time we get to the end the reference to grammar, it seems ironic...
Something is going on with the all caps this reader can't overcome.
