Told it to me straight

Told it to me straight

Words woven with a forked tongue, still drips honey in your ear, words that your heart desires, just to draw you near

Telling you the things you hope to hear from that special one, whispers creep into your heart at the setting of the Sun

A phrase that has two meanings, depending on how that phrase is read, confusions always possible, when you're alone in your bed

Do you try to read between the lines, try to see more that's what's been wrote, do you cling onto them like a life raft, to keep your hopes afloat

Easily wires get crossed and things aren't how they seem, reality is often far from hope or how you see it in a hopeful dream

You can only interpret the words you read or hear, you just hope you got it right, then pray that you have no need to fear, when you sleep at night

And all is well in what you've read, truth and honesty will guide your fate, hoping communication has got it right and told it to me straight
