Uprooted

Fuzzy stem
Plucked with a crisp crack
Subtle and soft
To a smiling ear

Twirled and rolled around
Through my fingers
Here it is and it never knew

Of the leaves, scorched from the Sun
Or the breath of the morning dew

Withering
Begging for the shade
Slunk over and shriveled

Plucked and studied
Through warm blood running

Drenched
Unquenched
As if the soil has given up

Stemming from what i know
Looking up above
