Lefty-loosey Righty-tighty

Hickory-dickory
-dock
she wanted nothing
to do with my cock

I figured
two can play this game
so I pretended
yes and no were the same

weeks
turned into months
conversations
turned into grunts

ashes to ashes
and dust to dust
she’s dried up
and my spigot’s spitting rust

three months ago
she brought home a surprise
an old worn out dog
had caught her good eye

she liked his kind demeanor
and his disposition was sweet
and besides, instead of sex,
all he needed was a treat

well here we go again
playing more games
I bought a 3-legged cat
whose name is Blame

yeah that’s right,
I wouldn’t make up that
now when bad things happen,
I just say, Blame the cat

after all this, turns out
the dogs a cat lover
the cat’s hooked on catnip
and is a cutter

dog just wants to
curl up with the cat
Blame forgot it’s name
and comes to damit or anything close to that

well that’s about it
from this postage stamp sized life
just your average
future-less husband and wife

oh, and still no good news
on when the plumbing might bust
she’s still dried up
and my spigots dripping rust
