Bleeding Through the Darkness

In the heart of the forest,
there is a darkness that wraps
itself quietly around me,
allowing me to curl up inside it.

As it comforts me,
color bleeds through the darkness,
pouring out at my feet.
The trees are feeding on my darkness.

The colors soften and rise,
now full of hope and light.
The trees' leaves show off the
transfusion they received,
for all to enjoy.

Author's Note
Special recognition goes to my beautiful young friend, TrueLover (Meganne). I sent Meganne my painting and said it needed a title. I asked her to tell me what she "saw" & if it had a message. She saw the message, "If you're in the darkness long enough, a rainbow and light will eventually bleed through the blackness."
I told her it didn't start out having eyes. But....then it was like the dark colors flowing from the left eye were sadness turned into colors. The lighter colors from the right eye going up are like a weight being lifted/hope.
So...special thank you to Meganne for helping develop my poem and giving a name to it all.
