so many times I silently look within
sometimes it’s my own soul
other times it might be yours
not much difference defines us
despair capturing our hearts
holding us hostage forever more
leaving thoughts of worthiness
never really knowing if we’re luved
at crossroads of life we stumble
can it be that our souls bleed
purple tears upon velvet petals
while raindrops cleanses our souls
