amado

my butterflies begat a zephyr
that flipped our calendars to may.
fear grips the summerís heat!
it will wilt what was.

in june i felt my feet
bind to the hot concrete.
an endless now: right here was
everywhere.

july craved the touch of august with a breathless fervor
as it shed the days between them
closer and closer,
slighted by only a second.

by nature time passes.
timeís passing,
and timeís passed.
† smile, there is always a way back
† † † to its forever fleeting antithesis.

oh,
my dear beloved,
there is only now.
