Deceptive Tongue

He parts the green blades as he's done before
Collecting new souls with an old score
A walking sforzando turning on a whim
Crying a metrical
Familiar hymn

Or perhaps the tune rings too familiar in YOUR head
Perhaps the words are those you've sung and said
Twisting into your soul
His song spreading pain
With his bow he glows as they all speak his name

What a man, all that hurt, how can he hover high
Never seeing the large heap of once faithful wives

Timeless times he's fooled the town with his game
Playing a twisted recounting of those he has slain

For a time he'll disappear and so does his song
Most forget, not a care that death was there at all
When he re-emerges a soulful saint from the grass
He'll strike up an old tale for a naive new lass.

Author's Note
More to do with a lover who lies and can't help but to spin his tales over and over but as I go over it I change my mind over again. At the moment I wrote this, I did feel cheeky about a realization I had. Anyways, enjoy!
