Author's Note
Covenants are legally binding clauses, and if breached will trigger compensatory or other legal action.
Because humanity had fallen far from the grace of God, and God wanted a renewal of the relationship, we have something known as the New Covenant. Through God’s son and his sacrifice, we have the chance for a redemptive relationship with our Savior.

A big HUG of welcome, with gracious gratitude to You for sharing your fine poetic skill.
We often make covenants (promises) we unwittingly did not fully realize in those moments that we did, or exactly what binding importance they would come to be held over us within our very beings, committing them in ways (in our innocent ignorance) we never could have foreseen.
Yet, we live, we do, and we learn … hopefully, that each mistake is intended to teach and make us wiser and more capable of resisting that which binds our minds, hearts, and souls.
But, your excellently rendered words have said it so much better.
