The sorrow I will not betray;
With the rose upon the grave.
There is so much left to say,
Such storms I yet have to brave.
But what storm lies between star and sea?
I have seen the hideous divinity
Of that Heaven’s love-swept dart
Kissing the scar of my heart.
And within dreams denied
In the sleep those who have died
There is no voice for the decay,
Save the whispers which fade away.
With the rose upon the grave.
There is so much left to say,
Such storms I yet have to brave.
But what storm lies between star and sea?
I have seen the hideous divinity
Of that Heaven’s love-swept dart
Kissing the scar of my heart.
And within dreams denied
In the sleep those who have died
There is no voice for the decay,
Save the whispers which fade away.
