Image for the poem Mister

Mister

I hold onto each note climbing higher and higher
each bar and rift getting me closer into the arms of my lover

who are you mister?

have we met somewhere before?

darkness embrace
a dark kiss
then memories flood me

are they mine or his?

a hiss a moan
deeper into me he pushes
until I unfurl

night's passion on the tip of my tongue
witches bane an arrogant man
who sees through my facade
into my folly he falls willingly
casting for fate

eyelashes cast downward
a shy glance and he's hooked
inward he spirals with each valley and peak

mister I'm here to catch you
take a lover's leap into my mists
look inside my sacred hollows
and inject me with visions of what we can do together

chained to the pain of yesterday's regret
he smiles and gently says I can't
my lip trembles biting back the tears
I cross my arms over myself hugging my heart tight

so much a woman
just a little girl
the bewitching hour is late

fate is calling me home
I love you cowboy
next time we meet I hope I'm closer to the woman you expected

less the child and more the vixen
turn the page
