Shattered Glass

She believed she was a princess
In a castle made of glass
Where everything was perfect
And what she wanted she would have

She grew up inside a bubble
Where she didn't have to struggle
But she always had a dream
In which she could just break free

There was one thing that she wanted
Something that she couldn't have
A pair of wings to help her fly
From that castle made of glass

It took her a while to take the risk
But she decided to chase her dream
She felt ready to leave everything behind
And escape her perfect world of glass

She tried to build her own empire
Forging a legacy of steel and fire
She thought she was ready to fight
But she couldn't handle real life

She ran when she didn't know to walk
Straight to the path of the point of no return
She was way far from where she started
Her castle of glass was already shattered

She smashed her face against the ground
She loved, she lost, she bled and got hurt
Didn't really matter how loud she cried
There was no way to turn back time

She danced in hell all over the flames
She found seven demons that now she calls friends
She was alone in a whole new world
Long gone from the place that she once could call home

Truth is she wasn't ready to fight
She had to accept that there's no turning back
She found herself covered in battle scars
And her illusions were broken just like shattered glass.
