Image for the poem Ornaments

Ornaments

Each a hazy memory,
an ornament from the past.

We drank from fountains of passion
convinced our love would last.

Where are they now,
new lovers or alone?

Though most have passed
their ornate light still glow.

Author's Note
I imagined an old man reflecting on past loves as if lined up like ornaments in a display box.
