When the bakery owner
looked at the lesbians  
as if they were threatening his soul
with eternal damnation, I said  
   
Fuck it --- let's just go to Dairy Queen!  
   
I was just kidding of course;  
we went elsewhere to have
our wedding needs catered to  
   
( though we really did stop for DQ Blizzards )  
   
but I'll never forget the look    
in that poor bastard's eyes . . .  
   
Aunt Sylvia sported a similar stigmatism  
when she accepted Jesus Christ  
as her lord and saviour  
in a deathbed contract signing
