VERMINTINE
Gothically graven on her cemetery tryptich
"I will never succumb to the daylight misery"
The alighted raven perches upon her inverted cross
As thirteen black candles flutter against the storm
Interred and by flame consigned
I kneel, mournful, your Vermintine
My sincerest apologies
For letting you die
I long to plant my tears as kisses
Against the tide from whence I pine
I will never succumb to the daylight misery
Even in the chorus such lamenting agony
For you I am the wolf among the weakening flock
The serpent slays the cock to silence the dawn tragedy

A poisoned thorn
Of utter scorn
