Grains of Memories

Time slipping away
Sifting through ones fingertips
A hole so vast
All of time be swallowed whole
The finality of a world tipped upside down
As oceans gobbled up in weightless space
Buried in the sand
Where beaches become washed away
No way to put it back
No path to travel to the past
Time cannot be trapped within a bottle
As it passes ever so slowly
Yet too quickly to miss a single moment
That could instead be spent holding hands and fingertips
Instead of trying to grasp at grains
Let them fall where they may
For there are more seconds in my fingers
That will transform into hours
when touching within hearts
The value of spilled time
Is in the memories compiled
