EMPTINESS
Am I empty
of Everything
What you believe of me?
I am haunted
by All the Things
That I promised you
Am I hearing
all or Nothing?
Never heard your prayers
I am feeling
the Emptiness
Of being lost forever
Of all the monsters you made
Why did you make me the devil?
The sacrifices we've made
Contend with creation primeval
The phoenix fails in embers
Surrounded by bodies dismembered
Entombed by all pretenders
The umbra will coalesce
When eidolons gather to possess
This is strife I must acquiesce
I must transgress the darkness
In fields of nightshade and heather
And graveyard leather severed
Words thriving of godless endeavors
Of all the monsters you made

I like where this is going, but I feel the first part is a poem alone, or with the last part for emphasis. The entire middle section, if rearranged and worded slightly differently has the potential to be a hair-raiser.

Yes. I can see what you mean. But it was structured different to express the desperation of clinging to what was. But everyone interprets things differently. I appreciate you stopping by and critique. It's always welcome.
