You See A City, I See The Wreckage

Industry finds every city is the same
Full of life and yet vacant
Framing parks for preservation of regulated beauty
Like concentration camps for a breath

In the illusion of fresh air
We live in bubbles and shattered fishbowls
Fragile with an abrasive yet see through exterior
Everything is stale

Even light is diminished
By overshadowing pollution
Not every toxin is seen
Though it is certainly felt

Invisible echoes
Of a familiar tragedy
Silent screams
Beneath the rubble of our achievements
Coming crashing down
As the penthouse makes its way to the lobby
And a corporate ladder is a burden undone for the loss

Shouldering the weight of empty dinner tables
And a depleted sense of livelihood
When all we do to survive
Comes face to face with the necessity to come alive
Dead weight routines through revolving doors

Orbiting existence in a universe
On a scale of platonic to acquaintance
Pay grade borders and elevators to high-class sinners
Versed against the poor manís saint of empty promises

Political diversions of news marketing
Turn your head and choke
Explosive citizens against kamikaze internationalists
One manís terrorist is a childís fatherÖ

This is a bit of a snapshot of 9/11 from the view point of city life and routine to parks designated for the illusion of fresh air and the fact that in a lot of ways there are no innocent victims when considering how we romanticize those marred of tragedy when in truth every one is in essence a monster in hiding. Then as a kind flip the script it ends with in essence humanizing the more obvious monster by societies esteem.
