Blackend heart with holes for eyes
Constant pain and fear that never dies
Bloody tears from your eyes
Living life in denial
Inner you turned dim and vile
No will for a battle
No pride you settle
The weakness in you
Very transparent with one thing true
No one can help you, Its all you boo!

Being trapped in a prison while having the key. Maybe the safety in solitary is peacefull at some point.

This may not be relevant to what the poet has written but there's one person that comes to mind.
The gentleman by the name of Steve Biko whose words and thoughts were feared so much he had to be stopped.
As the Father Of Black Consciousness his words are relevant to this day:
"You are either alive and proud or you are dead, and when you are dead, you can't care anyway."
"The most potent weapon in the hands of the oppressor is the mind of the oppressed."
"Being Black is not a matter of pigmentation — being Black is a reflection of a mental attitude."
"It becomes more necessary to see the truth as it is if you realize that the only vehicle for change are these people who have lost their personality. The first step, therefore, is to make the Black man come to himself; to pump back life into his empty shell; to infuse him with pride and dignity, to remind him of his complicity in the crime of allowing himself to be misused and therefore letting evil reign supreme in the country of his birth."
"Merely by describing yourself as Black you have started on a road towards emancipation, you have committed yourself to fight against all forces that seek to use your Blackness as a stamp that marks you out as a subservient being."
In his teaching Biko sought to release the Black people from mental slavery where they will be free from oppression but their minds will be in bondage still. A self imposed prison. People being prisoners of their own minds.
Apologies for the long commentary but somehow the spirit of Biko was evoked when looking at those jail bars inside the left eye.
